Accommodation at PaganFest is readily available. The venue we are using, Eyre Lodge, has a large number of dorm rooms.  These are made up of either bunk rooms with multiple beds, double rooms or even single rooms.  There is a first come first served policy on the single and double rooms so if you're after one then book early.

Camping is also available but as there is no distinguishing between dorm users and campers by the venue in regards to the fee we have to pay, camping is the same cost as staying in a dorm.  However, some people just like camping - although just remember it will be November in Christchurch, so it could be a teensy bit chilly for people who are used to warmer climes (ahem, I'm looking at you North Island and Australian people).

There is limited space for caravans or buses so if you want this option then contact us to ensure we've got somewhere you can park up.  Unfortunately there are no powered sites.

If you'd like a quick look at what the grounds are like check out the Eyre Lodge website www.eyrelodge.co.nz

Facilities:

Cooking:  There is a main kitchen that will be off limits as this is being used for the catering, however there is a small kitchen that will be made available to overnight attendees if they wish to self cater.  Many of the dorms also have a kitchenette, although whether they have a kettle, for early morning coffees, is another story.

Bathing: There are multiple male and female shower/toilet facilities throughout the grounds.  There is a male block in one building and a female in the other - these are labeled clearly.  In addition the main hall building has a toilet between the two lecture halls.

Outdoor Activities:  There are a number of outdoor activity areas if you're interested.  A confidence course, swimming pool, sports field and tennis court.  Additionally the grounds are extensive and there will always be someplace where you'll be able to find some quiet alone time if you feel like contemplating the universe.

Parking: The grounds are being landscaped so parking will only be in the specified areas.  Our lovely volunteers will help direct you to where you can park.  We'll have this signposted for attendees and Day Trippers.

Food:

Food option:  For festival goers this year we are offering a catered and a non-catered option.  Catered means you'll get breakfast cooked on all three mornings, and dinner on Friday and Sunday nights.  You'll have to fend for yourself for lunches and for Saturday, although the feast is on offer for that night, but not included in the catered package.  For these five meals you'll only pay $45 per adult and $25 per child.  A vegetarian option will be available for each meal and we'll accommodate any food allergies that you may have if possible.  Just advise us on the registration form or contact us to discuss special requirements.  Go to the feasting page for more details. There will be a food stall on site to purchase any further food you may wish. .

Saturday night feast: This will be catered by an outside company - go to the feasting page for more details.

What you need to bring:

  • Sleeping bag or other bedding you desire

  • Other linen you may require

  • Warm clothes
  • Swimsuit- if you're brave there is a swimming pool on site - though you won't catch me testing the water

  • Robes, cloaks or other ritual attire that you'd like to wear

  • Drums, musical instruments... always makes for fun when we're sitting around relaxing at night.
  • Non-perishable food item donation for the opening ritual - we'll remind you to bring it along when the ritual starts
  • Money if you're going to be purchasing food/goods from the Marketplace.
  • Some of the lectures may ask for you to bring something along - either a gold coin donation to help with the cost of materials or tarot cards etc.  Check out the timetable page to see what you may need to bring.

Note - If you're using the catered option then you won't need to bring crockery or cutlery as the main kitchen is fully stocked, however these can't be taken out of the main dining hall so if you're self catering then you'll need to bring your own plates etc.
